"Exploring and discussing the DNA of music."

WhoSampled

WhoSampled has kind of a cool concept: show the connections between songs that have been sampled in other songs.  So, when you're thinking, "I know I've heard that hook before!" this site can help you figure out where.  I came across it while searching for songs that sample Do The Funky Penguin.

My main gripe with the site (and most sites these days) is that it's plagued with obnoxious, CPU-sucking Flash ads.  It takes some time to load a page with three ads and two embedded YouTube videos, especially for us old school guys still rocking a single core processor.  And those Flash ads that expand to cover half your screen and the only way to hide them is to click a tiny x or "Close" link in a one-point font, where if you don't have the precision of a brain surgeon or at least a world champion Operation player you'll be whisked away to the sponsor's site, which is guaranteed to be even more Flash-heavy than the site you were just kidnapped from... don't even get me started on those.
