Time Lapsin' - Vol 1
So, I just recently discovered that my Olympus E-410 DSLR can do time lapses by hooking it up to a computer running the Olympus Studio 2 software. You hook the camera up via USB and then use the program to control the camera and all of its settings. You can set the intervals for taking photos and set a start time and end time. Pretty cool.
I just tried it out this evening and got 37 shots (at 30 second intervals) before my battery ran out on my netbook. I used a free program called VirtualDub to compile all of the still shots into an AVI file and add an audio track. The frame rate is 5.45fps on this one.
Here's the oh-so-very-short video of this first attempt:
Next time I'll make sure the batteries for my camera AND my netbook are both fully charged.
