You probably know Nathan's Hot Dogs for their annual July Fourth International Hot Dog Eating Contest.  Qualifiers have begun, so check the schedule for a location near you.  The contest is held at a Nathan's at Coney Island (eating a dog there was one of my first required New York experiences).

This photo was taken a couple blocks from our apartment, outside some Nathan's/Dunkin Donuts/KFC/Pizza Hut food court.  It's like some sort of atherosclerotic vortex that I'm afraid to enter.  I occasionally peek in through the scraped of sections of the painted windows.  Yes, all of the windows are painted over with advertisements like the lovely mural pictured here (maybe so you could maintain anonymity while scarfing a bucket of chicken, two chili dogs, and a jelly doughnut).  I think I saw a wall that had turned clear from having so much grease on it, like when Bart rubs a fish sandwich on the wall at Krusty Burger to see if Homer should eat it (Simpsons episode 3F05 - "King-Size Homer").  Then again, I've walked past this place to eat at White Castle, so I guess I shouldn't pretend I'm afraid of a little grease.

Note:  The spell-check feature in Firefox is telling me that "doughnut" should actually be spelled "donut."  Oh, screw off.  It's spell-checkers like you that are responsible for the dumbing down of this great nation.  What's next?  Cheese spelled with a 'z'?  You rat bastards.

Little forks.

I'm no hot dog eater, but I can appreciate Nathans. Mainly for that cute little red fork they give you to spear your fries with. It's so bougie, I mean honestly, who wants ketchup all over their fingers when it's 99 degrees out, with saturated gusts of wind carrying sand. We should go to that July event. I need something to fill the void of the NCState fair.
