F-in' Happy Meals

by Paul Kieper last modified 2009-05-14 09:10

Sometimes you just hear what you want to hear. Sorry, Alabama.

The national media has picked up a story about a Kidz Bop CD included in McDonald's Happy Meals.

One of the tracks on the CD is a cover of Gavin DeGraw's "I Don't Wanna Be", which contains the lyric "I'm tired of looking around rooms wondering what I've got to do."  Parents in Alabama are in an uproar because they think the vocalists are singing "I'm tired of fucking around rooms wondering what I've got to do."  Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.  About as much sense as thinking that a CD called Kidz Bop would be dropping the f-bomb and that McDonald's would include an f-bomb-dropping album in a Happy Meal.

The real danger to these kids is having such neurotic parents, who are so sexually repressed that every verb they hear somehow turns into "fuck."

Alright...I'm not here to defend....

As it is impossible to defend my home state. But you have to know that having children in Alabama is the most important aspect of a couple's life. Not work, not accomplishment, not rational thought..just children. So, how dare you condone this fucking shit and say fucking McDonalds doesn't have ulterior motives to get the word fuck to the children. I mean, these kids started saying "fuck" from this CD and this CD alone..right? RIGHT?? Oh, the kids probably didn't even say fuck but the parents just thought they heard it and wanted some free money from the arches? Maybe the government should be asking these parents why their children are on a healthy diet of happy meals.

\I fucking hate that goddamn state.
