20 Ugliest College Campuses in America
I hate NC State, and it's nice that I'm not the only one.
Whoever thought of running train tracks directly through campus was a genius. Oh yeah, and the Bell Tower (the famous landmark) where the clock doesn't work is a nice touch too (State is an engineering school). These aren't even the reasons they made the list. But they'll defend that piece of shit to the death.
Anyway, this is some dude's random observations, but a fun read nonetheless. The 20 ugliest college campuses include one notable at #16. But I've heard that compared to the rest of the city, it's really not that bad.
that's too close to home!
Blasphemy! Raleigh's red-bricked heart!? Why do you hate that school?
And what's that man's problem with the brick? Did he get them shoved up his ass when he was street riffraff? Seriously, what else is there to use for a campus? Is it a sunny Florida retirement home with stucco; or mexican pueblos with water and mud; another crappy suburban neighborhood with vinyl siding? No, it's a goddamn campus. Next time, I'll request that the educational funding be used for topiary and maypoles; and while they're at it, please increase tuition to pay for all that shit. Beautiful campuses do not come cheap. (Shit, would I have been so hateful if I didn't attend one of the schools in the top 20? Who cares... GO Wolfpack!!!!!!!!!! And RIT, whatever you dudes are.)

Some more work from the architect who designed most of the RIT campus:
NYU's Palladium dorms on 14th St. I'm beginning to see a pattern here. I haven't been able to find any evidence confirming the myth that the RIT campus was originally designed for a school in Arizona and the wind tunnel effect was supposed to provide breezes. One issue of the student-produced Reporter Magazine covered a bunch of the RIT myths/legends. Sadly, I don't remember the findings, except for the fact that there really is a tiger pelt stored in a special collection in the library. Go Tigers! (RIT and Auburn)
dumb
To clear up some confusion. That building in the picture isnt part of state its part of RIT. And I love nc states campus, and I dont really care about what some random guy who took the time to rank the ugliest campuses thinks about it
I thought I recognized that building. It's one of the dorms. The larger windows are common areas. Pre-renovation, this meant a lounge with couches and TV. In the renovated dorms they were more like conference rooms. It's not surprising that RIT made the list. It's interesting that NC State is rated so much worse, considering they both subscribe to the all-brick look. Even though the writer sounds like a dumbass, I thought this comment was kind of funny, "Binghamton’s just awful in the middle of rural nowhere with random squares."
